What Classic and Old school romances would you like to see featured here?
In the chat, Brenda Joyce and LaVyle Spencer were mentioned, who else?

Sorry - not we don't spell differently Down Under just a slip of the typing finger. At least it attracted attention!

What about Barbara Delinsky she has several oldies but goodies. Her older ones tuned me back on to romance years ago. Heart of the Night, Fingerprints, The Vineyard and Shades of Grace(I can go on and on) are my faves. Also Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux, and Kay Hooper is having some of her older novels being reprinted in the last months.

I've been reading some Julie Garwood, so I'd have to say Honor's Splendour for one!

Julie Garwood is a favorite classic author for me also. I have read "The Secret" and "The Bride" at least 2 or 3 times each. LOVE THEM! I am also a big Brenda Joyce fan, "The Game" my favorite, and I also love her "Deadly" Series. I guess the first author that I read in high school for romance was Johanna Lindsey. I have not read anything from her lately, but I still remember reading several of her books in one sitting.

I also read Johanna Linsey when I was younger. She was my fav. back then.

I am in touch with Julie Garwood, and she has agreed to participate on level with the book club. We'll have to pick a few of her books to discuss with her. I'm adding The Secret and The Bride to my buy list. I have Ransom here, but haven't read it yet. I feel like my romance education is seriously lacking if I don't read Julie Garwood!!

Tara - that is AWESOME that Ms. Garwood will be participating with our club. She is my favorite romance author. (Make sure you read "The Secret" first before you read "Ransom".)

The author that brought me back to reading any type of books was Rosanne Bittner. Her stories are fantastic reading. However Julie Garwood is my other favourite author. I have all of her books. They are sooo good. Good choice Tara.

Hi Paulie - I too have read all of Mary Balogh "Simply Series", but I still haven't read the new one "Simply Perfect", I have it on order. (Have you read it yet?) Also, Brenda Joyce is one of my favorite authors. You CAN read her books out of order, the only ones I would make sure to read in order is her "Deadly Series".

Ladies...many years passed before I finally got myself a copy of Castles in the Air by Patricia Gallagher. All I can say is that the praise this excellent novel received as a stellar work of fiction still does not come up to how truly magnificent the book really is. I would love to get talking with others who have read it, and I definitely recommend it!
