Meet Other Readers > Hi from Florida

My name is Mary and I am a native Floridian living in Tampa. Due to an accident that has had me laid up for the last 4 months, I have been able to return to a lifelong passion - reading romance novels. There is one in particular that I am looking for.
I first read it ears ago and I would like to read again. It's a historical romance novel set in Florida in 1880s when phosphate mining was just starting to boom. The heroine is a young woman named Eden (I think) who runs her family's general store and takes care of her father who drinks too much and her younger brother. Our heroine is very prim and proper and she is withering on the vine while waiting for her fiancé of many years to finally set a date to marry her. The hero of the story is a minor who shows up in town. He is running from his past in California and trying to start over. He meets Eden when he goes to the general store for supplies and sees her using a broom to get rid of a raccoon that got into the store. And after that the sparks fly and Eden's life is turned up side down.
