Paranormal Romance Discussion > Recommend anything?

So, I've always been a sucker for the romantic heroes who are the loner type; sad, shy, or more awkward around women. It seems like all I come across these days in paranormal romance are the alpha-hole types! Can you guys recommend any novels that have more of a shy guy hero?

"Vision in White" by Nora Roberts

The hero was a major reason I didn't finish the novel. Enjoy.

When a Duke says I do !!

With a disabling affliction of extreme shyness, Alexander Wilkinson, was basically "thrown away" (sent to an asylum) as a child and soon thereafter declared dead. His father, the Duke of Kingston was ashamed of him and after the death of his oldest son; the Duke couldn’t stand the sight of Alexander (the second son). It didn’t take long for others to know, that though Alexander couldn’t speak, he had talents that needed to be cultivated. Raised by a gifted French painter, Alexander was able to nurture his gifts.

Elsie and Alexander’s story is a deep yet heartwarming tale that draws the reader in from the start. The twists and turns are surprising and pulls on the heartstrings. Elsie is whimsical and outgoing the perfect opposite to Alexander’s selective mutism disability. Ms. Goodger portrayed her characters depth and emotions so real it seemed you could reach out and touch them. You could feel the emotions, the depth of Alexander’s anxiety and Elsie’s humbling and loving compassion. There’s more than just a sizzle between the two, it’s a mating of souls.

I really enjoyed The Lone Texan by Jodi Thomas. It is historical but this hero is one of my all time favorites.
